Imomotimi Armstrong

Imomotimi Armstrong teaches African literature and popular culture in the Department of English and Literary Studies at Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. His research explores African popular music and literature across oral and written traditions, focusing on performance, memory, urbanity, and identity, as well as how music mediates conflict and contributes to peacebuilding in postcolonial contexts. Armstrong has received fellowship awards from the African Humanities Programme (AHP) of the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) and the African Peacebuilding and Developmental Dynamics (APDD) programme of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC). His research publications have appeared in the Journal of the African Literature Association, Africa Today, English Studies in Africa, Journal of African Media Studies, Tydskrif vir Letterkunde, Journal of the Musical Arts of Africa, and elsewhere.
