Fulera Issaka-Toure
Fulera Issaka-Toure is a Senior Lecturer, Department for the Study of Religions, Faculty of Arts, College of Humanities, University of Ghana, Legon. Her specialty is on the intersection of law and religion in ways that it impacts gender and women’s rights. She is currently working on Islamic knowledge transmission, authority, race, and belonging among West African Muslims in Germany. She has published in Hawwa and Islamic Africa, among others. In addition, she has held prestigious fellowships including the DAAD, the German Research Foundation (DFG) through the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies, the Ghana Education Trust Fund, the Bavarian Postdoctoral Fellowship, the Fritz Thyssen Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the SSRC’s African Peacebuilding Network’s Individual Research Award.
