Azeez Olaniyan
Azeez Olaniyan is a 2017 recipient of the Individual Research Grant from the African Peacebuilding Network (APN) of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC). He is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. He was formerly the deputy director of the Institute of Peace, Security, and Governance at Ekiti State University (EKSU). He has received a number of grants and fellowships including: Research/Writing Fellowship from the Rachel Carson Centre for Environment and Society, Ludwig-Maximillians University, Munich, Germany; African Humanities Postdoctoral (AHP) Research Fellowship (American Council for Learned Societies); Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa; and Graduate Summer Training Fellowship by the Factory of Ideas, Centre for Afro-Asia Studies, Federal University of Bahia, Salvador, Brazil. He has also participated in the American Political Science Association (APSA) African Methodological Workshop program. His research interests include peace and conflict, security studies, ethnic politics, social movements, and political ecology.
