Dr. Kanyingi Benson
Dr. Kanyingi Benson is a historian, an SSRC 2022 Next Generation Dissertation Completion Fellow, and CODESRIA laureate. He is a lecturer in the Department of Humanities at the University of Embu, Kenya. He holds a Ph.D. in History from Karatina University, specializing in land, memory, and marginalization in the history of Kenya’s decolonization. His major publications include Interpreting Embu-Mbeere Politics through the Lens of Sibling Rivalry (1906–2021) and several works on Mau Mau historiography, colonial development, and indigenous knowledge systems.
