Dr. Dickson Otieno Okello
Dr. Dickson Otieno Okello is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management at Egerton University, Kenya. He holds a Ph.D. in Agribusiness Management from Egerton University and specializes in entrepreneurship, agricultural value chain analysis, climate-smart agrifood systems, and food systems innovation. His research focuses on climate-smart agriculture, regenerative and inclusive food systems, MSME development, youth entrepreneurship, peacebuilding in agribusiness, and economic impact assessment. He has led and contributed to multiple regional and international projects, including the ReFooture: Regenerative Food and Future, and the Climate-Smart Agrifood Systems (CSAS) initiative. Dr. Okello is a Fellow of the SSRC’s African Peacebuilding Network (APN) Individual Research Fellowship (2025) and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals on agripreneurship, technology adoption, and resilience among smallholder farmers. He actively mentors graduate students and supports policy-oriented research and capacity-building initiatives across Africa.
