The SSRC is an independent, international, nonprofit organization. It fosters innovative research, nurtures new generations of social scientists, deepens how inquiry is practiced within and across disciplines, and mobilizes necessary knowledge on important public issues.
Asebe Regassa Debelo is an ssociate professor of development studies at Dilla University (Ethiopia), where he is also the director of the university's research and dissemination office. He is a 2015 recipient of the Social Science Research Council’s African Peacebuilding Network’s Individual Research Grant. Dr. Regassa completed his PhD at Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies, Germany in the field of Development Studies in 2014. He completed an interdisciplinary Master’s program in Indigenous Studies at the University of Tromso, Norway.
