Amanda Coffie

Dr. Amanda Coffie is a Research Fellow at the Legon Center for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD), University of Ghana. She holds a PhD from the Department of Political Science, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. She was awarded a post-Doctoral Fellowship as a 2018 Cambridge-Africa Partnership for Research Excellence (CAPREx) Scholar at Cambridge University, United Kingdom. Dr. Coffie’s research interests include, refugee studies, African Diasporas, the politics of mobility and governance of migration, and post-conflict peacebuilding in Africa. She is widely published in these fields, and has conducted fieldwork-based research in Ghana, Liberia, and Canada, United Kingdom, and The Gambia. Dr. Coffie is a 2016 recipient of the Social Science Research Council’s African Peacebuilding Network’s Individual Research Grant.
