Getnet Tesfaw Demsie
Getnet Tesfaw Demsie is an Assistant Professor of Social Psychology in the Department of Psychology at Wollo University, Ethiopia. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology, and his MA and PhD, from Addis Ababa University (AAU).
Getnet is a recipient of the 2025 Individual Research Fellowship award of the Social Science Research Council’s (SSRC’s) African Peacebuilding and Developmental Dynamics (APDD) program. He has published peer-reviewed articles on child and childhood issues in migration and conflict, and has been engaged in providing psychosocial support services to vulnerable groups. He has presented and participated in papers at both national and international conferences, and was a Visiting Fellow at Ghent University for three months. His research interests are on children and youth in relation to conflict, migration, peacebuilding, and related psychosocial issues.
