Dr. Nagmeldin Karamalla-Gaiballa
Dr. Nagmeldin Karamalla-Gaiballa is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Asian and African Cultures, University of Warsaw, and Editor-in-Chief of the African Journal of Economics, Politics and Social Studies (AJEPSS). He holds a PhD in Political Science and an MA in Economics, with research focusing on African politics, armed conflict, forced migration, democratisation, and international interventions, particularly in Sudan and the Horn of Africa. He is the author of several scholarly books, including Obstacles to Democracy in Sub-Saharan Africa: Key Challenges Seen Through a Sudanese Lens (Springer, 2025), and has published widely on conflict, governance, and political transformation in Africa. His work focuses on the political economy of violence, migration governance, and external interventions in Sudan and the Horn of Africa.
